Free Listings

In one lineUnpaid product visibility across Google surfaces.

Free listings are unpaid product listings that can show across Google surfaces through your Merchant Center feed, giving you organic product visibility alongside your paid ads.

You already do the work of maintaining a product feed for Shopping, so free listings let that same data earn visibility at no media cost. Eligible products can surface on the Shopping tab, in Search, on Images, and other Google surfaces, matched to what shoppers are looking for using the attributes you already provide. For new accounts the setting is typically on by default, so you may be getting this exposure without having switched anything on.

You should treat this as extra reach rather than a separate channel to babysit. The better your titles, images, and data quality, the more often these listings show, which is the same discipline that lifts your paid Shopping performance. One clean feed feeds both.

Set expectations. Free listings cost nothing to run but you still compete on feed quality and relevance, and they are a complement to paid Shopping, not a replacement, so do not expect them to carry your revenue on their own. And note Google dropped the Next branding, so it is just Merchant Center again.

Free traffic is a bonus, not a business plan.
