The US joint venture is the new majority US-owned company that runs TikTok in the United States after the January 2026 forced divestiture.

For years there was talk of a US ban. What actually happened is different: under the deal that closed in January 2026, US TikTok was spun into a new company controlled by American investors, with Oracle, Silver Lake, and Abu Dhabi's MGX holding roughly 45 percent and ByteDance's stake pushed under 20 percent. TikTok was not banned, and for you as an advertiser it keeps running as normal.

In practice this means your campaigns, your Business Center, and your billing all work the way they did before. If a client asks whether it is safe to spend on TikTok in the US, the honest answer is yes, the app is operating under US-controlled ownership, not living under a shutdown clock.

Ownership changed, but that does not mean the rules stopped moving. A restructured US entity can adjust its data handling, ad policies, and algorithm oversight over time, so treat "it is settled" as true for today, not a promise that nothing about the platform shifts next year.

Not banned, US-run, still worth watching.
