Maximize Conversions is an automated bid goal where Quora sets your bids to produce as many tracked conversions as your budget allows.
You hand the system a budget and a conversion event, and it bids on your behalf across the auction, aiming the spend at the users its model thinks are most likely to convert. You stop setting a manual cost per click and let delivery chase the conversion instead.
You give an ad set a daily budget and a Purchase event, and the system raises and lowers bids automatically to return the most purchases it can inside that budget.
Automated bidding needs conversion volume before it can optimize. The model learns from your pixel data, and Quora has historically wanted on the order of twenty conversions a week to work well. People switch it on for a fresh account with no conversion history and get erratic delivery, then conclude the feature is broken.
Automation optimizes on data it does not have yet.
