A product set is a chosen slice of your catalog, one brand, one category, or your sale items, that you can point ads at on its own.

You rarely want to advertise your whole catalog the same way. You have a clearance rack, a hero range, a set of high-margin items, and each deserves its own budget and message. A product set lets you carve those out. You define a rule, say every item where the brand is X or the product type is running shoes, and Meta groups the matching products into a set you can target directly in catalog ads.

This is where you get real control. You can run one campaign against your budget bargains and another against your premium line, each with its own audience and creative, all pulling from the same catalog underneath. Rule-driven sets update themselves too, so when a new item matches, it drops into the set without you rebuilding anything.

The honest catch is that a product set is only as good as the catalog fields and rules behind it. If your brand names are inconsistent or your product types are blank, your rules catch the wrong things and your sets turn to mush. Clean the catalog first, keep your rules meaningful rather than clever, and check what actually landed in each set before you spend against it.

Messy catalog data makes messy sets, every time.
