Conversion tracking records the actions people take after seeing or clicking your ads, both post-click and post-view.

You define a conversion, such as a form fill or a purchase, and LinkedIn credits it when someone who clicked (post-click) or merely saw (post-view) your ad later completes that action within a chosen window. You set the attribution window and whether to count views, which decides how much credit LinkedIn claims for outcomes.

A team counts webinar registrations with a thirty-day post-click and seven-day post-view window, so a person who clicked an ad and registered three weeks later is credited, and so is someone who only saw the ad and registered within the week.

Post-view credit inflates the numbers. Counting people who never clicked means LinkedIn can claim conversions that would have happened anyway, so a report leaning on view-through looks far better than the click-only reality. Read which window each number came from before you trust it.

Every conversion count is an attribution choice, not a fact.
