Brand Awareness is an Awareness-stage objective that optimizes for impressions and reach rather than clicks or leads.
You run it when the point is to put your name in front of a defined audience repeatedly, and LinkedIn bills you on a cost-per-thousand-impressions basis. It does not chase clicks, so click and lead numbers on these campaigns will look weak by design.
A company entering a new market runs Brand Awareness against every operations lead at target accounts for a quarter, aiming for frequency ahead of a later conversion push. Success is measured in reach and repeat exposure, not in form fills.
It is the easiest objective to waste money on. Impressions are cheap to buy and hard to tie to revenue, and on LinkedIn the CPMs are already high, so a vague awareness campaign burns budget with nothing to point at. Only run it when you have a downstream campaign ready to capture the demand it builds.
Awareness is a setup move, not a finish line.
