A Manager Account (MCC) is a top-level Google Ads account that sits above your other accounts, letting you manage many of them under one login.
You are running ads for more than one client, or more than one brand, and you are tired of logging in and out of separate accounts all day. A Manager Account fixes that. You sign in once and see every account you have been given access to, switch between them in a click, and move people in and out of accounts without handing around passwords. If you are an agency, this is how you take on a new client without them ever sharing a login: they grant your manager account access, and you are in.
It also pulls billing together. With consolidated billing turned on, the accounts under your manager can be paid for through one monthly invoice instead of a separate card on each one, which is the difference between one payment to reconcile and fifteen. You can nest managers under managers too, so a bigger shop can mirror its own team structure, with client accounts sitting several levels deep under the top account.
Remember what it actually is. A manager account is an access and management layer, not a performance lever. Linking it to a client account changes nothing about how the ads perform, and the plumbing gets messy fast: half-accepted link requests, people left with admin rights they should not have, billing pointed at the wrong account. Keep the structure clean and deliberate, because a tangled MCC is a security and billing headache waiting to happen, not a growth tactic.
It organizes who can touch what and who pays for it, and nothing more.
